About Emily

Emily’s love of animals began when she was a little girl. Growing up next to Bishop’s Ranch in Healdsburg, Emily was surrounded by goats, chickens, ponies, llamas, and sheep. As she grew older, she fell in love with the shelter world, where she has been at Compassion Without Borders for nearly four years as an Animal Care Technician (ACT), caring for animals in need from Mexico and the Central Valley. She has also worked at municipal shelters and at a veterinary hospital, giving her a full-spectrum understanding of veterinary medicine and basic animal behavior. Now, she is pursuing her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license through the Santa Rosa Junior College. When she’s not working or in school, her love for animals flourishes as a pet sitter!

Having cared for up to dozens of animals at a time, Emily is well-versed in animal caretaking and finds joy in the little moments. When she watches your pet, you can count on her to love them like their her own. When Emily isn’t immersing herself in the pet world, you can find her reading, playing guitar, or cooking up new recipes.
